Physical Activity: regular and consistent physical activity is an important part of overall health and resiliency. It may be a challenge to remain active when your body hurts. With appropriate care and advice, you can keep moving.

Restorative Sleep: improving sleep can improve attention span, mood, insulin resistance, and can reduce hunger. Sleep can be elusive when the mind continues to race or if one engages in habits that interfere with sleep. Nutritional supplements and sleep-wise advice can promote sound sleep.

Nutrition: a diet consisting of whole and plant predominant foods is known to prevent, treat, and even reverse some chronic illnesses. Nutritional supplements may offer support during periods of transition.

Stress Management: managing negative or adverse stress can lessen anxiety, depression, and immune dysfunction. It can also improve a sense of well-being. Meditation, breathing techniques, and thought management techniques can help manage one’s stress levels.

Social Connection: positive social connections have beneficial effects on physical, mental, and emotional health. It’s valuable to find like-minded people that are supportive and accepting. Finding your ‘tribe’ is a worthwhile endeavour.

Avoidance of Risky Substances/Behaviours: use of tobacco and excessive alcohol consumption have been shown to increase risk of chronic disease and death. However, any substance or behaviour that interferes with your well-being can result in diminished health outcomes. Finding healthy alternatives can improve well-being. The journey may be long though, so support may be useful.
