Appointment options and their descriptions

 1.     Health Assessment

A: For initial visits or established guests with newly developed situations

              i.     Involves learning your story, visual and physical assessment of your body.

ii.    Guests will dress down into gowns. Your body needs to be seen and moved with ease. Modesty is maintained with undergarments or swimming costumes (bikini or speedo style

iii.   Duration: Please allow up to 50 minutes

B: What to expect

i.     Your initial appointment begins with a conversation about your reason for coming, your goals from care, and how the situation is affecting your life - we want to learn more about you.

ii.     Following the conversation, you will change into a gown. Your posture and movement will be observed, your back may be exposed during these observations. Diagnostic physical assessment follows.

iii.     Physical assessment includes assisted motions with pressure to explore areas of tension and resistance.

C.     This appointment concludes with a health determination and therapeutic approach.

D.    Please note that this appointment type does not include treatment

2.     Treatment

A. For established guests (those who have had a Health Assessment).

i.     Based on therapeutic approach. May included hands-on or activity care, or both. Most treatments include self-care activities.

ii.     Common approaches begin with an emphasis on hands-on care. The dress for this care is like that of “Health Assessment”. Skin-on-skin contact is necessary. Activity care requires clothing that is comfortable for movement. Gym or yoga clothing works well.

iii.     Duration: Please allow up to 25 minutes

B. What to expect

i.     This appointment type begins with changing into a gown or activity clothing.

ii.     Doctor/patient contact is to be expected. Your doctor may use oil to assist with soft tissue work.

iii.     You’ll be guided into postures, positions, and activities that assist with the desired therapeutic outcome. Activity based care will include training for a specific therapeutic goal.

3.     Training: Breath Embrace or Sustainable Posture

A. Exercises for established guests that support strong, resilient, and capable bodies.

i.  Dress for physical activity; flexible and comfortable clothing like for gym or yoga.

ii.   Duration: 50 minutes

B. Breath Embrace

i.     You will learn the interplay between breath and posture

ii.     “4-phase breathing” will activate your abdominal, spinal, and shoulder muscles to heightened levels. You will experience breathing that is profoundly deep and grounding.

         iii.     A few “breath embraces” each day will have a positive effect on your life experience.

C. Sustainable Posture

         i.     You will learn the body’s support system.

ii.     Safe floor-based exercises for all levels will re-activate your support system in a holistic manner.

Leg, pelvic, trunk, shoulder, and neck muscles will come “back on-line” and do the jobs they were meant to do.

   iii.     A daily routine of Sustainable Posture exercises will keep your body strong, resilient, and capable to express your life’s intentions.
